Onderstaande is geschreven door de echtgenoot van Michelle Rutten. We hebben een lieve zoon (Machiel) en een zwaar gehandicapte dochter Mayim. Michelle heeft terminale hersenkanker en leeft inmiddels niet meer.
Zorg voor onze dochter is de zorg van Michelle
We verzorgen onze dochter met zijn tweeën thuis in ons aanpaste huis. Na het overlijden valt een groot deel van ons inkomen weg. En de intensieve zorg voor Mayim blijft bestaan. 24/7. Elke dag, elke nacht.
Michelle’s laatste wens
Michelle en ik hebben een wens uitgesproken. Haar leven lang werkte ze voor mensen die het niet zo goed hebben. Als vrijwilliger en als professional. Honderden gezinnen en jongvolwassenen heeft ze geholpen. Ze kreeg hiervoor een lintje van de Koning (Ridder in de orde van Oranje Nassau). Nu overkomen ons diverse (financiële) uitdagingen in de eigen situatie. Daarom deze funding. Maar met een groter doel voor ogen.
Michelle Rutten Kantel Fonds
We starten naast de kosten rond het afscheid van mijn vrouw en zorg op korte termijn een nieuw fonds, niet alleen voor onze dochter (voor alle hulpmiddelen en zorg die nu nodig is), maar in tweede instantie breder. Een kantelfonds om, als het fonds groter wordt met een eigen bestuur, jongvolwassen met een beperking te helpen. Dat is de ster op de horizon. De ster die Michelle is, als ze er niet meer is.

I am Michelle Rutten's husband. We have a wonderful son (Machiel) and a severely handicapped daughter, Mayim. Michelle has terminal brain cancer and because of this, she doesn’t have long to live anymore.
The care for our daughter is Michelle's worry
The two of us take care of our daughter, in our adapted home. After Michelle’s death, a large part of our income will disappear, but the high amount of care for Mayim will still be needed. 24/7. Every day, every night.
Michelle's last wish
Michelle and I have made a wish. All her life Michelle worked for people who are less fortunate. Both as a volunteer and as a professional. She has helped hundreds of families and young adults. She was decorated by the Dutch King (Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau) for this. Now we ourselves end up having financial problems. That's why we started this funding. But it is with a greater purpose in mind.

In addition to the costs of care, we are soon starting a new fund. Not just for our daughter (for all the aid and care that is now needed), but also for a greater cause. We’re starting a fund to help young adults with a disability, and when the fund grows, it should get it’s own board. That's our star on the horizon. The star Michelle will be when she's gone.
